RAINBOW MOUNTAIN TOUR (VINICUNCA)

For the tour to the Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca) we will pick you up from your hotel from 4:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m., we will board our transport and then go to the town of Pitumarcaduring the trip we will pass through different towns and enjoy the incredible views of the Peruvian Andes, the trip is approximately 2 hours.

Upon arrival we will make a stop to enjoy a delicious breakfast and stock up on some necessary things to start the tour. After this short stop, we will continue our trip where we will observe the landscapes, the mysterious mountains and the deep valleys.

We will arrive at the town of(Quechuyno). From here the walk uphill begins for 3 hours until reaching the Rainbow Mountains. Upon reaching the top of the mountain 5100 m.a.s.l, you will be able to enjoy stunning views of the Andes and the Andean fauna. (Quechuyno). A partir de aquí se inicia la caminata cuesta arriba por 3 horas hasta llegar a las Montañas del arco iris. Al llegar a la cima de la montaña 5100 msnm, va a ser capaz de disfrutar de unas vistas impresionantes de los Andes y la fauna andina.

After the great experience we will start the return walk, in a duration of 2 hours, then we will enjoy a delicious lunch. After lunch you can visit some of the local family houses, where you can see the lifestyle of these people who still practice the ancient traditions of the Incas.

Later we will return to Cusco, we will be arriving in the city at approximately 6:30 PM and then we will leave them in their respective hotels, thus culminating the tour to the mountain of 7 colors.

It is necessary to take into account all the details mentioned below about the tour to MONTAÑA COLORADA o CERRO COLORADO.

  • Have a good physical condition for the walk, (approximately 10 km) The walk lasts 3 hours uphill and 2hrs and 30 min. of ascent).
  • Preliminary acclimatization stage of 2 to 3 days in Cusco or another similar city and be prepared for a wide range of changes in temperature.
  • MAXIMUM ALTITUDE: 5250 masl • MINIMUM ALTITUDE: 3800 masl, the height increases as one advances, that makes the walk really tiring and hectic.
  • It is recommended to drink mate from the coca leaf or muña, at breakfast, which helps to open the bronchial tubes and you will breathe better.
  • The weather in the Andes can be unpredictable ranging from hot, sunny to rainy, windy, and cold. Hikers should be prepared with the proper gear for variable weather conditions throughout the day.
  • Bring camera and power bank (extra batteries) (batteries consume faster under cold conditions).
  • Resistant footwear, waterproof trekking boots are recommended, extra socks are a must
  • Warm clothing, including jacket, gloves, scarf and hat
  • Hat or cap to protect yourself from the sun, rain and cold
